The history of the origin of nuga and pastille

The myth that sweets spoil the figure and teeth were invented by irritable persons who constantly abide in the bad mood of the spirit themselves and strive to spoil the mood of others. No one forces you to eat sweet kilograms. To save the figure, move more and engage in your favorite sport. And the rinse of the oral cavity after eating will prevent caries. It is no less harmful to completely exclude sweets from your diet than to use it in large quantities. What sweets are the most delicious?

The homeland of many popular sweets became the countries of the East. As you know, in medieval Europe, food was quite modest and fresh. The cooks did not know spices. And the only sweetness used in food was honey. Crusades brought to the tables of Europeans a huge number of new seasonings and, of course, sweets. The most popular of them was NUGA. This confectionery is made on the basis of honey, egg protein and nuts. The name comes from the Latin word "nux", which means "nut". Very often, candied fruits are added to the nuga and cover it with chocolate. It was this treat that took the honorary place on the Christmas table of Catholics.

But the invention of another world -famous confectionery – pastille – attribute to the inhabitants of Kolomna. The pastil was invented approximately in the XIV century. The treats are based on apple puree mixed with honey or sugars. Egg protein can also be added to the pastille. The treat is not only tasty, but also healthy. It contains pectin, which is so necessary for a modern person. Pectin cleanses the body of radionuclides and salts of heavy metals. Pastille will become a real medicine in the conditions of modern ecology. There are a huge number of confectionery factories specializing in the production of the famous Russian goodies. Pastil is presented in several regional versions, for example, Belevskaya pastille can buy it in Moscow in almost any store.

Another popular eastern sweetness is still a great success in Russia. It is called Chuck-Chak. It is believed that this delicacy came to Russia from the Turkic peoples, in particular, from the Tatars. In order to cook chak-chak, you need a dough from eggs and wheat flour. It is rolled into balls or turned into long thin sausages. Then the dish is poured with hot syrup prepared on the basis of honey. The delicacy is considered ready after its complete solidification.

This is far from all the sweets, without which the tea party will not take place. Everyone chooses to taste. Do not deny yourself small pleasures. They make our life more pleasant and richer.
